Constitution Day

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day is observed September 17. In accordance with section 111 of Division J of Public Law 108-447 (2004) we celebrate by providing free copies of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, celebrated on September 17, commemorates the 1787 signing of the Constitution and recognizes all who have become U.S. citizens.

The Health Sciences Library honors this day by offering pocket size copies of The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America.

The Constitution of the United States of America is the supreme law of the United States. Empowered with the sovereign authority of the people by the framers and the consent of the legislatures of the states, it is the source of all government powers, and also provides important limitations on the government that protect the fundamental rights of United States citizens”.
