The Upstate Health Sciences Library provides public health services and resources free of charge to patients, families and our community members at large.

General Health Resources

Medline Plus - Trusted health information, including multilingual resources, a medical encyclopedia, drug information, and more.   

Clinical Trials - A registry of publicly and privately supported clinical trials. Visit https://clinicaltrials.gov/find-studies/how-to-search to learn more.

HealthFinder - Over 1600 health topics, personal health tools such as calculators, health news, and how to find a health care provider.

Journal Collection - Library journals (print and online) relevant to consumer health, patients, and families.

Merck Manual - Information on medical topics, symptoms, drugs, procedures, news and more, written in everyday language.

NIH Consumer Health Information - Health information from the NIH including understanding medical research and tips for staying healthy.

Drug Information from Medline Plus - a tool from the National Library of Medicine for looking up side effects, dosages, and precautions.

Upstate's Healthlink Seminars - Local seminars bringing health information and education to you and your family at no cost. Presenters are Upstate physicians, nurses, physical therapists, etc.

Center Watch - Clinical Trials Listing Service: source of clinical trials information that offers news, analysis, study grants, and trial listings to professionals and patients.

Medline Plus Health Videos - covers topics such as anatomy, body systems, and surgical procedures. You can also test your health knowledge with quizzes, and check your health with calculators and questionnaires.
