What journals are available and how do I access them?
The New York State Library (NYSL) maintains an excellent collection of medical and scientific journals. Free online access is available to in-state physicians and permanent state employees through the NYSL’s eJournals list with a New York State Library card.
Be sure to have your NYSL card number and PIN ready when accessing these journals.
You can also lookup a specific article, journal or book using the NYSL Citation Linker.
Can I check NYSL holdings from Upstate HSL resources?
If you are searching in Primo and see that we don't have holdings for that item, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Search for this item at the New York State Library."
Alternatively, if you are in a database and see that a search result has a link for "Owned by Upstate?", click that link. At the bottom of the next page, click "See all content access options for this article". This will take you to Primo, where you can find the NYSL search option at the bottom of the page.
