Veterans and their Families - Health Information Resources

A list of resources, support, and partnerships dedicated to mental health policy, education initiatives and advocacy priorities that impact active duty military personnel, veterans with mental illness and the family members of these individuals. The Veterans and Military Resource Center is supported by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Veterans and Military Council.

The National Center for PTSD is dedicated to research and education on trauma and PTSD. "PTSD Online" offers a variety of interactive, online tools for managing stress reactions and coping with symptoms of PTSD. A "PTSD Coach" mobile app is available for both iPhones and Android devices.

The Behavioral Health Care Line at the Syracuse VA Medical Center serves Veterans in inpatient and outpatient settings to help them achieve a full and meaningful life. Mental health services are provided in a number of settings based on the needs of the patient. Our Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic provides mental health services as a part of the Patient Aligned Care Team to help Veterans work toward symptom resolution. Inpatient Behavioral Health Care is available for Veterans who require more intervention than can be provided in the community.

Clear Path empowers military members, veterans, and their families through traditional and non-traditional, wellness-enhancing programming delivered in a safe and family-centered environment.

Outward Bound for Veterans helps thousands of returning service members and recent veterans readjust to life at home through FULLY FUNDED wilderness courses that draw on the healing benefit of teamwork and challenge through use of the natural world.
