NIH Public Access Policy @ Upstate

Step 1: Address Copyright

Step 1: Address copyright

Before signing any publication agreement (or similar copyright transfer agreement), make sure that the agreement allows your paper to be posted to PubMed Central in accordance with the NIH Public Access Policy.

If the publisher's standard agreement does not allow sumbission of either the peer-reviewed final manuscript or the published paper to PubMed Central (by either the publisher or the author), you may need to add a statement to the agreement allowing submission.

The paper may be submitted by either the publisher or the author, using any of four approved methods (described in Step 2).

For more information, see NIH's webpage on addressing copyright.
