ClinicalKey for Nursing

Learn how to get the most out of Upstate's top nursing resource.

Nursing point of care videos

Currently, the best way to get to videos of nursing point of care procedures is to click on the Clinical Skills box.

Although other videos* are available elsewhere in ClinicalKey, the videos found through the path below will be most relevant to standarized nursing practices.

1. Type in your search term and click the best result. Please note that this search is restricted to the title of the video.

2. Under "Images and Demos", click one of the video icons to open up a video player.

Note: the video player in ClinicalKey doesn't have the ability to change speeds or show closed captioning or transcripts. If you're on a unit or elsewhere on campus, you can access a video player with these features by doing the following:

1. Click "View in Clinical Skills."

2. From Clinical Skills, click the "Videos" tab.

*Note on other video type referred to as Procedure Videos: these videos target physicians and residents rather than nurses and nursing professionals. They conform to ACGME standards and requirements from the ABIM (American Board of Internal Medicine), but may vary significantly from nursing-focused accreditation standards. Elsevier's statement on this can be found at https://elsevierresources.com/clinicalkey-for-nursing/implementation-resources/

As such, the library recommends that nursing professionals instead defer to the videos found through Clinical Skills using the method above.
