SUNY Open Access Repository (SOAR)

Learn how to boost discovery of your work through Upstate's open access repository.

Submitting articles and other works

The article deposit form should be used to submit articles or book chapters to SOAR.

The journal and/or publisher dictates which version of the article may be self-archived in an institutional repository. If you do not have this information, you may look it up in Sherpa/Romeo or email libsuppt@upstate.edu for assistance.

If the article has been indexed in PubMed or CrossRef, this will help us pull in some information automatically. Library staff will use the information provided to place the article in the repository.

The following information is required:

  • Author/submitter name (one author name)
  • Title of work
  • Journal name
  • Creative Commons license chosen

Additional information required if the article is not indexed in PubMed or CrossRef:

  • Complete list of author names
  • Date of article publication
  • Article subjects/keywords
  • Citation

A work may be embargoed and a Creative Commons copyright license chosen.  If none is selected, an Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs (CC BY-NC-ND) license will be applied by default; this is the most prohibitive license that does not allow derivatives or commercial use of works.
