SUNY Open Access Repository (SOAR)

Learn how to boost discovery of your work through Upstate's open access repository.

Submit your works

Full-text copies of scholarly works (such as articles, book chapters, dissertations and theses) may be self-archived in SOAR.  Submissions that are not under an embargo will be publicly available and indexed/searchable in Google.

We have two different submission processes, one for theses and dissertations and one for articles and book chapters

For article submissions, please verify publisher requirements first by searching the Jisc open policy finder (formerly Sherpa Romeo). Library staff will use the information and files sent through the form to deposit them in the repository. We will double check to ensure that the correct version of the article has been uploaded and that it complies with the journal or publisher's conditions.

If you would like to submit several articles to SOAR, the Library can use your CV or a Dimensions search to provide a list of closed access articles. As with single submissions, we advise you to search Sherpa Romeo to find version requirements and any other conditions, as SOAR requires all submissions to be aligned with publisher requirements.

If you have questions or would like more guidance on submitting your work, please contact us at libsuppt@upstate.edu.
